Once, I was a part of everything I touched
life was even, ecstacy filled the air
being in the crown of my youth,
I enjoyed every bit of it, every second dreamed about the colorful life
When people grinned I never knew my world will be trimmed.
The day was not different from any other, until
a bottle of vitriol was splashed onto my face.
Whole world turned upside down within the blink of an eye
my face was on fire, it burned and I was tormented.
as I fell down on the pavement all I could hear was my own voice, screaming .
A million thoughts passed my mind, All I could do was to shriek out loud in pain.
Somebody took me to the clinic, I could'nt focus on anything other than my melting face.
I wanted to cry, but that too ached
Unable to ask even for help, I laid for days, weeks and months.
Multiple surgeries, treatments....everything took place
Habitual outcome, nothing could change my disfigured face.
Only sympathy was seen in the eyes of people who once smiled and showered love.
Justice was given, not the answer to my question..."WHY?"
being born in a low class community OR not hearing the unnecessary utterence
was my fault? Did I dream too much?Never did I harm anyone on purpose..
Oh! dear god,WHY? what did I do to get severely punished?
My dreams shattered, years wasted ,jealousy for the ones who left the world.
But, being left in this world with such an imperfection felt like a destiny.
I realized I still owned the spirit.
The devil could only ruin my face, not ME.
Brutality of the world never stopped and it will never
and so is over ardour to fight back.
And always the one question "WHY and what did they gain?" will remain UNRESOLVED.....
"These are the words of the hundreds of girls who want to reach out to the world and express. IF IT IS NOT US THEN WHO WILL BE THERE FOR THEM."
